DUNNING CHESS NEWS
Dunning Primary 4/5 chess team have made it to the final of Perth Schools Chess Competition.
Our First Team, Gregor, Rosalind, Jamie and Logan, managed to come first in our section after some good games with other schools. We started off with a draw against St Ninian’s School, beat our second team 4-0, beat Craig 3-1 and beat Craigclowan 3-1. They will play Auchterarder, Ardvreck and St Ninian’s in the final.
Our second team, Cara, Stuart, Lasse and Hamish, lost all their matches but we had some individual victories with one win and three draws.
As always it was a pleasure to watch them plotting and strategising their way through the matches. Win or lose they all benefitted from the experience. In competitions they are more focussed, think harder and really enjoy the experience. They are always well behaved and are a credit to the school.
